FFA chapters across the country have a new opportunity to grow their spring fundraisers—literally—thanks to an exciting new partnership between Seminis and Ball Seed.

The Plant-Powered Fundraiser Program gives FFA chapters discounted access to professional-grade vegetable seeds, allowing students to raise funds while gaining valuable, hands-on growing experience. It’s a program designed to connect agriculture education, entrepreneurship, and community involvement all in one planting season.

Tyler Ash, a field sales representative with Seminis, says the goal is to make fundraising more impactful for chapters nationwide.

“We created this program to make fundraising more meaningful for FFA chapters by offering high-quality vegetable seeds at a special discount. We’re helping students grow something great while supporting their local communities.”

Professional Seeds, Perfect for Local Plant Sales

The program includes popular and in-demand vegetable varieties such as tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, broccoli, squash, and even watermelons. Seeds are packaged in convenient 100-seed sizes—ideal for school greenhouses, classroom projects, and community plant sales.

When chapters grow Seminis seeds, they’re offering their communities the same varieties trusted by professional growers.

“These are better varieties with excellent yield potential and the traits commercial farmers rely on—and that people actually want to eat,” Ash explains. “That leads to more successful sales for chapters.”

More Than Just Seeds

Beyond discounted seed pricing, the Plant-Powered Fundraiser provides additional tools to help chapters succeed. Participants will receive growing tips from the Seminis home garden team, along with branded flyers and marketing materials designed to help promote local plant sales.

Orders are placed through Ball Seed, a leader in horticultural distribution, ensuring reliable service and access to professional-grade seed.

Easy Sign-Up for Chapters Nationwide

Getting started is simple. Chapters sign up through Ball Seed’s website, which can be accessed through the program’s landing page on the Seminis website. All that’s needed is a chapter number to register as a Ball Seed customer and receive the FFA discount. Once orders are placed, chapters will receive additional information in the spring to help make their sales a success.

Seminis and its parent company, Bayer, say the program reflects their continued commitment to supporting FFA and today’s youth as they develop leadership skills and real-world agricultural experience.

The Plant-Powered Fundraiser is open to all FFA chapters nationwide and offers a fresh, hands-on way to cultivate both crops and community support this spring.
