It’s always inspiring to see those who dedicate their lives to agriculture recognized for their impact. Recently, the National Agricultural Hall of Fame in Bonner Springs, Kansas, welcomed three remarkable individuals: Michael Hinton, creator of Antique Tractor Preservation Day; Sonny Perdue, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture; and Wendell Murphy, North Carolina swine producer.

Offered through both the National FFA Organization and the Kansas FFA Association, the Gift of Blue provides jackets to students enrolled in agricultural education classes who face financial challenges. Each student who applies shares their goals, dreams, and reasons for wanting to wear the jacket, while their agriculture teacher helps endorse their application by describing the student’s circumstances and potential.
