Marshall pushing to get year-round E-15 across the finish line

Year-round E-15 was removed from the Farm Bill and will now go up in the house for a separate vote. U.S. Senator Roger Marshall speaking to a group of media made it clear that his goal is getting year-round E-15 across the finish line.
"E-15, E-15, E-15. If you ask me my legislative priorities, right now those are the top three is getting year-round E-15," Marshall said.
Marshall highlighted what the economic benefits to farmers would be.
"If you think that in an average year America was exporting maybe two, two and a half billion bushels of corn a year, this would mean an extra two billion bushels of corn consumed. So it's almost like doubling your export market. Now I've been saying that for a while over a couple years but last year we exported like 2.8 billion bushels we're expecting a 25% increase in corn exports and ethanol exports as well. So certainly that is our legislative priority," Marshall said.
While the passage of this bill will benefit farmers consumers will also see a difference.
"You know the other thing about E-15 is going to decrease the cost at the pump. Our credit card bill would decrease the cost of dime a gallon. You can go to higher blends of ethanol back home then you know typically the E-85 is another 50 cents less as well. So I think that this is one more step in relief for the American consumer as well but really I just think you've got six or six senators, eight senators banned together to block it," Marshall said.
The House is scheduled to vote on the bill on Wednesday afternoon May 13th.
