Dairy Expo 2026

The world dairy expo is preparing for its 59th annual show and seeking college students passionate about the dairy industry to be part of its 2026 media team. Four students will be hired to experience the event as media interns. Lisa Behnke, the communications manager for the expo, said this is a great opportunity for students to learn real world skills.

"Well, that's one of the very best things about world dairy expo is how we all work together

during the week of the event. And it's an opportunity for college age, well, even younger people in the industry to come together to compete and contest. But these job opportunities are exceptional.

We've got four typically interns that are hired to work in world dairy expos, media, roommates here. And we've had students come from coast to coast to take advantage of this opportunity. And it really is an absolute opportunity," Behnke said.

Behnke talked about some of the specific responsibilities of interns.

"I really appreciate their youth because as a director of communications here, I've got years

of experience with news writing and such. But I will tell you, returning to this position after

being gone for 12 years, what I was struck by was how many more vehicles we use, I guess, to communicate with and the majority of them being within the realm of social media.

These kids that are coming out of college have an exceptional control of those reigns.

And it's really fun to have them contribute to world dairy expos, social media presence during

the show. So our interns will be developing content for our social media news feed. They'll also be writing over 30 news releases, capturing results from the show and reporting what's going on during the week. They'll work on our daily newspaper," Behnke said.

Qualified applicants are actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in dairy, agriculture, or communications related fields with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Students should visit World Dairy Expo’s website, www.worlddairyexpo.com, and select “Careers & Internships” under the “About Expo” tab for the complete job description and all pertinent application details.
