The content in this blog is derived from my interview with Mark Griffith- Nebraska and Colorado Territory Manager at Surepoint Ag Systems.

At Surepoint Ag's display for the 2025 Commodity Classic, they had a 12-row 30, older model John Deere planter, showcasing several upgrade options designed to improve efficiency and precision in the field.

One of the standout additions is the GFX Row Cleaner Opener, a product acquired from Dawn Manufacturing. This innovative tool helps smooth out the ride of the row unit while planting, ensuring better seed placement and reducing residue interference. Another key upgrade is the hydraulic suspension kit, which enhances row unit stability by offering both hydraulic downforce and uplift capabilities. It can apply up to 650 pounds of downforce while reducing pressure to as little as 5 pounds, creating a smoother planting experience that optimizes seed-to-soil contact.

A limited-production innovation this year is the MVX Seed Meter, an electric seed meter developed in collaboration with Monosem, a company owned by John Deere. While Monosem has successfully launched this technology in Europe, it is now making its way into the U.S. The meter allows producers to plant a wide variety of seed types with enhanced precision and efficiency. It is compatible with John Deere XP and newer models, Harvest International, and Kinze row units, making it a versatile addition to any planting setup.

On the other side of their lot, SurePoint Ag Systems featured a drop-deck semi-trailer built by Minden Machine of Minden, Nebraska, designed specifically to integrate with their Quick Draw system. This 48-foot trailer offers a range of features, including swing-down inductors and a new tote rack that allows for two-high stacking, accommodating up to four totes. Additional jug and box storage provides flexibility based on producer needs. The trailer is equipped with spring suspension, with air-ride axle options expected in the next production cycle. Producers can choose between 3,200-gallon and 2,800-gallon tank sizes, with structural enhancements that enable a 10-year warranty from the tank manufacturer.

For those interested in upgrading their planting equipment, visiting SurePointAg.com is an easy way to learn more. Their website contains detailed product descriptions and a list of territory managers available to assist producers in finding the right solutions.
