The content of this blog is derived from my interview with Corey Nikkel- Sales Enablement Director, Indigo Ag.
Indigo Ag has been in the microbial seed treatment business since 2013, focusing on stable, flowable powder treatments added to seeds at planting time.
The CLIPS device is designed to simplify the application process by using a pod containing the treatment dose. This pod is clipped inside the seed box and activates when the grower empties the seed into their tender, ensuring even distribution of the treatment throughout the seed.
The seed box, with the pod inside, is stored in a warehouse until needed. Once deployed, the device activates, and the seed box is either refilled or done for the year. While the current system is intended for one-time use, full-service dealers may use it multiple times a year.
For 2025, Indigo Ag's products available in the pods include biotrinsic drought-stress products for corn and soy, as well as EPA-registered bio-fungicides and bio-nematicides. They also offer treatments for cotton and wheat. The traditional packaging has been replaced by the CLIPS device, making it easier for growers.
Indigo Ag's products can be found through traditional retail systems. Simply ask your local retailer for biotrinsic products.
